AMD收购欧洲AI初创公司！

　　7月10日，据英国业界消息，AMD将以6.65亿美元收购芬兰人工智能(AI)初创公司Silo AI，意图扩大其AI服务，以与市场领导者英伟达竞争。

　　这是自2014年谷歌以约4亿英镑收购英国DeepMind以来，欧洲最大的一笔私人AI初创公司收购规模。

　　据了解，总部位于芬兰赫尔辛基的Silo AI是欧洲大型私人AI实验室之一，替企业客户提供量身订做的AI模型和平台。这家芬兰公司去年发起了一项计划，以瑞典语、冰岛语和丹麦语等欧洲语言开设法学硕士课程。

　　Silo AI致力于“开放源代码”AI 模型，这些模型免费提供，任何人都可以自定义。这与 OpenAI 和 Google 等公司不同，后者倾向于自己的专有或“封闭”模式。

　　AMD 表示，Silo AI的300名成员将使用其软件工具建构定制大型语言模型(LLM)，这笔全现金收购预料将在今年下半年完成，不过仍须获得监管机构批准。

　　AMD人工智能事业群资深副总裁Vamsi Boppana表示，该笔交易既有助于公司加快与客户的接触与布署，也有助加速自家AI技术。

　　AMD的 AI 技术与占据高性能芯片大部分市占的英伟达互为竞争关系。英伟达的成功推动其市值今年突破3万亿美元，目前科技公司正在努力构建为最大的AI模式提供动力所需的运算基础设施。AMD去年底开始推出MI300芯片，直接挑战英伟达的Hopper系列芯片。

　　而与 Silo 的交易表明，AMD正在寻求迅速扩大业务规模，并通过自己的产品推动客户参与。AMD将替客户建立定制模式的Silo视为其“基础”AI 软件与该技术在现实世界应用之间的纽带。
