据国外媒体报道，多家中国厂商正在考虑与日本显示器公司JDI（Japan Display Inc.，简称JDI）合作生产OLED（有机发光二极体）面板。

与JDI有资本合作关系的中国基金透露，JDI正在准备量产面向智能和手机的OLED面板，中国多家厂商对开展合作表示感兴趣。该基金未透露具体的厂商名。

本月上旬，JDI表示，关于从中国基金等接受最大800亿日元（约合人民币53亿元）资金援助，已签署了正式的合作合同。

之前，JDI已经从一客户那里获得1亿美元的投资。外媒称，这家客户就是苹果公司。在截至3月的上一财年，苹果占到日本显示器营收的60.6%。

JDI 2018财年（截至2019年3月31日）合并财报显示，最终损益为亏损1094亿日元（约合人民币68.5亿元），连续5年亏损。

智能手机厂商转向使用有机发光二极体(OLED)面板，以及中国大陆LCD面板厂商产能增加等等原因，使得JDI面临严峻的经营环境。JDI因为转往OLED面板的步伐较慢，错失了许多苹果订单。JDI希望获得外部投资，并计划把获得的资金投入日本国内工厂，扩大OLED面板产能。

TFT-LCD、AMOLED以及包括柔性显示等新型显示技术，它们的基础技术都是半导体技术，都可统称为半导体显示。半导体显示可定义为通过半导体器件独立控制每个最小显示单元的显示技术统称。
