株式会社村田制作所开发了内置NXP·semiconductors·N.V（NXP公司）无线微控制器（MCU）“88MW320”的小型无线模块“Type ABR”，并启动了量产。
近年来随着IoT市场的快速成长，产品与服务开发速度亦备受重视。但是，若要在产品中安装无线通信功能，则需要具备一定的Wi-Fi?等无线通信功能的相关知识，由此可能会延长产品开发周期。因此，就需要一款可简单安装无线功能的通信模块。
村田制作所为此开发了本产品，只需简单的动作指令就能赋予Wi-Fi功能。由于已获取无线电法认证，因此无需再个别获取认证。此外，通过内置NXP公司的MCU，可利用该公司提供的具备简化应用程序开发的架构等软件开发支援工具（EZ-Connect?、WMSDKA）。基于此，通过削减设计资源，有利于尽早将客户的IoT设备投入市场。
