During exhibition, NOVOSENSE engineer will give presentation about its automotive solutions on April 25.　　Empowering engineers' automotive system design with product innovation　　NOVOSENSE will showcase how its innovative products can help automakers to develop smarter and safer automotive system:　　To support the trends of multi-node, high-speed, and high-stability in-vehicle communication, NOVOSENSE's automotive-grade CAN SIC, NCA1462-Q1, can achieve a transmission rate of ≥8Mbps in a star network, and maintain good signal quality with high EMC performance and patented ringing suppression function.　　More channels are integrated on a single LED driver chip to support the increasing number of LED beads. NOVOSENSE's LED driver integrates up to 24 channels on a single chip, supporting stronger current driving capability and complete circuit protection functions.　　Thermal management systems are transitioning from distributed architectures to integrated architectures. NOVOSENSE's highly integrated small motor driver SoC, NSUC1610, realizes efficient, real-time control of motor applications by integrating an ARM core MCU, a 4-way half-bridge driver, and a LIN interface on a single chip. 　　In China, cars are basically standardized products when they leave the factory. In order to meet the personalized and diversified needs of car owners, there is a huge "car aftermarket", namely 4S stores, maintenance stations, and modification plants, where automobile enthusiasts can modify or add some products into their vehicles. Products in the aftermarket do not have to pass the vehicle regulations. These parts will never change the core electronic components or interfere with the car safety, as they belongs to peripheral products. I did a survey and found that most so-called car chips speculated in Huaqiangbei belong to this category! They do not belong to the ABS, ESP, and other parts asserted by Bloomberg in the article!　　Introduction to Slkor in Chinese and English　　III.Inspection of electronic components　　I, SONG Shiqiang, as a stall economist in Huaqiangbei and the General Manager of Kinghelm and Slkor, explored some rules by using the basic theories of "Kondratieff waves" and "Fiboracci Arc" in Macroeconomics. In contrast, White Horse Laboratories is a more convenient choice. Additionally, 360IC also has a lab similar to this. By chance, I found ways and means to test electronic components. For problems arising out of the electronic components, causes of problems should be analyzed. If there are disputes, all responsibilities should be clearly defined, or some information should be traced and confirmed. Then the test and inspection of electronic components will play a role.　　For example, a testing company has advanced ultrasonic testing equipment capable of doing non-destructive tests widely applied in material test, failure analysis, Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance and Reliability (QA/REL) tests. Items can be inspected include electronic components, LEDs, metal substrates, cracks, delamination, cavities and other irregularities. A buyer with rich procurement experience in Huaqiangbei knows the origin of a chip, the level of processing of a chip and stage of modifying for a chip through visual inspection with his naked eyes. That is why I was shocked by the simplicity involved in buying chips for vehicle use described in the article by Bloomberg easier than blowing a whistle. Too much emphasis on the importance of customer relationship in the article revealed a blurred business image in Huaqiangbei that is far away from real business practice. The prerequisite for business in Huaqiangbei is the stock available and the same stock with authenticity!

European Automakers to Add Alibaba Voice Assistant to Cars

Ahead of this week’s Beijing Motor Show, three European car manufacturers have said that they will add Alibaba’s smart voice assistant to smart devices compatible with their connected car apps.Daimler, Audi, and Volvo car owners in China will be able to use Alibaba’s Tmall Genie voice-controlled assistant to monitor fuel levels, mileage, and engine and battery status, as well as control car doors, windows, and air conditioning from home via voice command. The feature is expected to launch in the near future — Volvo plans to use the Tmall Genie service on its XC90, S90, and XC60 models; Daimler and Audi haven’t yet specified which will implement the voice assistant.Earlier this year at CES, Alibaba announced a partnership with Mediatek to develop its own smart mesh connectivity solution to support Bluetooth mesh networking. While that announcement was focused on connectivity, Alibaba had already been working with the fabless semiconductor company for its voice assistant, using Mediatek’s MT8516 application processor for audio and microphone processing. The MT8516 integrates a quad-core, 64-bit Arm Cortex-A35 MPCore operating at up to 1.3 GHz and features interfaces such as I2Sx2 (four channels), TDM (up to eight channels), and PDM inputs (two channels) for microphone voice input control and connected audio products.The automaker partnerships are with Alibaba’s A.I. Labs, its in-house research unit for developing artificial intelligence-powered consumer applications, as part of its IoT initiative. The lab is also working to integrate its AI platform into vehicle operating systems so users will be able to control Tmall Genie-compatible home appliances from their cars. Alibaba said that it would use A.I. Labs’ voiceprint technology to ensure that the devices can only execute commands when activated by the voice of authorized users.Daimler also plans to leverage geofencing technology — developed by Alibaba Cloud’s IoT division — to automatically turn on or off lighting, thermostats, and other home appliances when they drive past a designated area near their homes.Tmall Genie was launched in July 2017 and has sold over 2 million units in China to date. Cars seem to be the next frontier for this service. Market research firm Counterpoint Insights forecasts that more than 125 million connected passenger cars would be shipped between 2018 and 2022, with the market increasing 270%. The report pointed to fast-growing adoption in China as one of the key drivers.“Cars are an environment, alongside the home and the office, where individuals spend a significant amount of time, and which through connectivity can become an important part of life,” said Lijuan Chen, head of Alibaba A.I. Labs, in a press statement. “Identifying how to serve car users with our smart home assistant Tmall Genie is one of our top priorities.”
